The perfect, traditional Eau-de-Vie, this Massenez Vieille Prune is the result of combining the best selections of plums and aging them in a barrel.

This strong Eau-de-Vie is removed from the still and then aged in oak barrels for several  years. It then softens to become an eau-de-vie with great finesse and subtlety.

It is famous for its digestive qualities and can be sipped at the same temperature as a cup of tea.

Tasting Notes :

Appearance: clear and colorless, sometimes with yellowish-green hues due to its aging; with a brilliance that is characteristic of Fruit Eaux-de-Vie. A supple and fluid eau-de-vie.

Nose: fruity, intense and with a distinct fragrance of ripe plums...

Palate: a direct and complex attack on the palate, between an almost floral freshness of the fruit and the intensity of the plum. A fleshy, round and generous Eau-de-Vie.

Appearance: Intense and bright yellow colour with golden reflections. 

Nose: On the nose it shows floral, citrusy and herbaceous notes over a yeasty and mineral base. 

Palate: The finish is bitter and clean with a long, nutty and refreshing aftertaste

Uiterlijk: strogeel van kleur met groene reflecties

Neus: intens bloemig en fruitig. 

Smaak: verfrissend met tonen van tropisch fruit en citrus

Het Huis: In de jaren ‘50 werkte Angelo Paradiso vooral als bulkproducent en het bedrijf groeide gestaag. Eind jaren ‘90 hielpen ook zijn twee zonen en dochter mee en produceerden zij bulkwijnen en olijfolie. Midden 21e eeuw splitste het bedrijf zich op. De huidige eigenaar Angelo Paradiso (jr.) runt het wijnhuis sinds 2008, terwijl zijn broer en zus olijfolie produceren. De druiven voor de bulkwijnen worden gekocht van de gecontracteerde druivenkwekers. De gebottelde wijnen zijn geproduceerd op 20 hectare eigen wijngaarden. Door de toenemende vraag vanuit het buitenland naar wijnen van één bepaalde druivensoort is er een herwaardering ontstaan van de inheemse druivensoorten uit Puglia. De meest gebruikte druivensoort is de Primitivo, ook wel de ‘voorvader’ van de Californische Zinfandel genoemd.
