Langlois Clos Saint Florent Saumur rood 2021 75cl
€28.95

For the ninth release, Drouin turned to Scotland, the historic home of single malts, and in particular to the Arran distillery, with which a relationship of friendship and barrel exchanges has existed for 20 years.

A 13-year-old calvados from the Pays d'Auge was chosen for the production of this release, which was placed for 6 months in 6 old French oak barrels that had previously contained Arran whiskey.

Tasting Notes :

Nose: delicate calvados on the nose, with nuances of apple, malt, apricot and pear

Palate: remarkably refined, with a perfect balance between roundness and acidity.

Finish: notes of hazelnut and grains

Country : France, Normandy

Distillery : Christian Drouin

Alcohol by volume : 46,9%

Christian Drouin's Experimental line is joined by the Foursquare Angels for the eighth edition of the range.

Foursquare, an iconic family-owned distillery in Barbados, is renowned for producing rums with exceptional aromatic expression that are recognized worldwide. In this case, a 17-year-old Calvados Pays d'Auge was transferred to 8 French oak barrels, which previously held the Foursquare distillery's renowned rum. After 17 months of maturation in these barrels, the calvados was then transferred to freshly toasted barrels for an additional 3 months before being bottled.

Tasting Notes :

Nose: aromas of ripe and roasted apples, delicate vanilla, creamy caramel, and brown sugar

Palate: full richness with smooth and harmonious flavors of tropical fruits, dark chocolate, and gentle spices.

Finish: the finish is long and powerful, opening with notes of pine nuts and almonds

Country : France, Normandy

Distillery : Christian Drouin

Teeling Whiskey presents this special edition in collaboration with Duvel, in which Irish whiskey is matured in barrels that were previously used for Duvel. These Small Batch Collaborations emphasize the craftsmanship of two iconic names: Teeling, a pioneer in the Irish whiskey world, and Duvel Moortgat, a family business that has been world famous for its natural Belgian beers since 1871. The result is a refined whiskey with a surprising twist.

Tasting Notes :

Nose: a fruity sourness and tangy lemon stands out, with apple aromas and hints of orange marmalade. Then plenty of light malty - bready notes, a hint of vanilla and whiffs of white pepper.

Palate: Plenty of lemons up front, with some white nectarines and a generous amount of grainy notes again. Then a light hint of coconut and vanilla, before it moves towards grapefruit and mild oak spice. Subtle white pepper and herbal notes.

Finish: rather short, with more malty sweetness but also a tangy astringency. Light gingerbread in the end.
