Het Huis: Voor Clotilde Davenne begon het allemaal in de jaren tachtig. Toen ze achttien was, wist ze dat ze op weg was naar de wijnwereld. Clotilde komt niet uit een familie van wijnbouwers, legt ze uit. Mijn vader was boer. Ik wist dat ik dicht bij de natuur wilde werken, maar niet met de landbouw. Ik wilde mijn zintuigen gebruiken; geur smaak. Dus ging ze oenologie studeren.
“Op dat moment was ik een beetje een feministe. Dit soort werk werd gedomineerd door mannen en ik wilde bewijzen dat ik het ook kon doen. In die tijd was het niet erg gebruikelijk dat vrouwen oenologen waren”.
